We are a grassroots organization, led by a committed troupe of musicians, rasikas, and volunteers. We work hard to cultivate the South Asian classical arts in Chicago from the grassroots level on up. Individual donations compose a substantial portion of our operational budget. Your contribution makes a difference!Celebrating Music, Community, and Culture
For over a decade, the South Asian Classical Music Society (SACMS) has been a platform for preserving, presenting, and celebrating the rich traditions of South Asian classical music in the Chicago area. Our events bring together renowned artists, dedicated students, and a vibrant community of listeners united by a shared love for this art form.
This short compilation captures moments from past concerts, workshops, and community gatherings—reflecting the spirit, scale, and cultural depth of SACMS. We invite you to experience the music, the artists, and the community that continue to shape our journey.

Shehnai & violin conert
August 29, 6:30PM
National India Hub, Schaumburg IL
The remarkable, in India essential, double reed shehnai (oboe-like), was elevated to the concert stage during the 20th century by the late Ustad Bismillah Khan. The intoxicating sound of the instrument comes to life in a program memorializing a classic recording. It featured the great Ustad in duet with a major Hindustani violinist of the period, Pt VG Jog. It's a program not to be missed!
